MARSHAL (1-day) Course
Course
Philosophy
Students attending the course are most likely to be people from organisations
which utilise their staff in the event of a fire evacuation as Fire
Wardens / Marshals.
The
course will therefore be particularly valuable for those employees who
have, or may be nominated for, a defined staff role within the organisation’s
Fire Management Structure.
Course
Aim
To provide the student with the knowledge and skills required of a competent
Fire Marshal.
Course
Objectives
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
1.
Understand the principles of fire science
2.
Demonstrate safe and effective use of portable firefighting equipment
3.
Understand the legal requirements in relation to fire safety issues
4.
Identify fire safety equipment available in the workplace
5.
Understand human behaviour in a fire situation
6.
Understand how fire safety issues should be managed in the workplace
7.
Be aware of different methods of evacuation
8.
Demonstrate an understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Fire
Marshal
Assessment
Process
The student’s theoretical knowledge of fire safety matters is
tested using pre and post assessment papers conducted at the SIFTC covering
the technical subjects on the course.
Certificate
Issue
A certificate will be issued on successful completion of the course
and sent to the individual’s work address.
