03 February 2012 - Teen suffers burns in kitchen fire, West Lothian

A teenager received flash burns to his hands and face as a result of an oven catching fire at an address in West Lothian.

Fire crews from Bathgate and Whitburn were called to Hailestones Crescent, Armadale shortly before quarter to six on Thursday evening (2 February).

They extinguished a fire in the oven on arrival. A 14-year-old boy had already been taken to St John’s hospital suffering from flash burns.

A 39-year-old woman still in the premises was suffering from shock and was given oxygen at the scene.
