01 February 2012 - Cottage fire in Elphinstone

Firefighters were called out to a cottage fire in Elphinstone yesterday morning (31st January).

Three fire engines attended the blaze at 10.58am, and on arrival crews were faced with a one storey cottage which was well alight. Two teams of firefighters wearing breathing apparatus fought the fire in what were arduous conditions.

A male was treated at the scene by the ambulance crew for smoke inhalation but did not require to go to hospital. The fire investigation team are currently examining the cause of the fire.
