23 October 2008 - Flood Awareness Day

A flood awareness day has been set for Musselburgh on Thursday 23rd October 2008. Following the recent flooding in Lothian and Borders, Musselburgh  was another badly affected area.

Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service Firefighters, East Lothian Council Flood Prevention Officers, the Head of Emergency Planning and representatives from SEPA will be at the Brunton Hall in Musselburgh from 10am until 4pm.

The theme of the day will be to give residents, commercial property owners and developers information on flooding in the area. It will also be an opportunity for people to find out more about the East Lothian Council Floodline, which allows Residents to sign up for early notification of any flood alerts.

Flood Awareness Packs will be available on the day at the Brunton Hall and at the local branch of Tesco's.
