26 August 2008 - East Lothian Flood Awareness Day

A flood awareness day has been set for Haddington in East Lothian on 29th August 2008. Following the recent flooding in Lothian and Borders, East Lothian was a badly affected area.

On Friday 29th August, Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service and partner agencies will set up flood awareness displays in Haddington, one in the Town House and one in the Fire Service Community Safety Vehicle (CSV), which will be stationed on Court Street.

Flood Prevention Officers from East Lothian Council, Scottish Water and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) will be on hand to give flood prevention / awareness advice. Flood Awareness packs will also be available.

The displays will be set up from 10am til 4pm, at the Town House and in the Fire Service CSV on Court Street, Haddington. Flood Awareness packs will also be available from the Tesco supermarket in the town centre.
