04 January 2012 - Man suffers burns in New Year’s Day fire

A 27-year-old man suffered serious burns in a fire on New Year’s Day in a flat at Murrayburn Place.

Firefighters were called out at 6.32pm and treated the casualty with gel packs and oxygen until the ambulance arrived. He was taken to the Royal Infirmary.

It is thought the fire had been started by a cigarette.
