Hoax Visits

Not Sure if Your Visitor
is Genuine?
Don't let a bogus caller into your home – remember:
- Firefighters will always visit in pairs
- They will always wear official Fire and Rescue Service uniforms (Black shirt with red lettering, black trousers, gold fire tunic)
- There will be a fire engine or fire service van in your street
- Firefighters will always carry identity cards and expect you to ask to see them. You can verify their identity by calling Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Lauriston Place (0131 228 2401)
- Although we may knock on your door, the Fire Service will never telephone you unless you have asked us to do so
