Who is the Course aimed at

Students attending this one-day course are most likely to be from organisations that use their staff as Fire Wardens / Marshals in the event of a fire evacuation. This course will benefit employees who have, or may be nominated for, a staff role within the organisation’s Fire Management Structure in the prevention of fires and implementation of fire evacuation.

Following the course, the student will know the role and procedures of a Fire Marshal/Warden to ensure that all personnel are safe.

Objectives - at the end of the course the Student will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of fire science
  • Demonstrate safe and effective use of portable firefighting equipment
  • Have an awareness of legal requirements in relation to fire safety issues
  • Identify fire safety equipment available in the workplace
  • Understand human behaviour in a fire situation
  • Understand how fire safety issues should be managed in the workplace
  • Be aware of different methods of evacuation
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Fire Marshal/Warden
  • Have an awareness of basic risk assessment

Assessment Process

The student’s theoretical knowledge of fire safety matters is tested using pre and post assessment papers covering the technical subjects of the course.

Certificate Issue

A certificate will be issued on successful completion of the course and sent to the individual’s work address.
